Operation Spider Rescue

In January 2024, myself along with trapdoor spider ecologist Dr Leanda Mason, threatened invertebrate expert Loxley Fedec, and 22 wonderful volunteers relocated 40 trapdoor spiders in the Porongurup Range National Park whose burrows were in the path of new construction. Construction has commenced and we are now waiting until it is complete to go back in and check on the relocated colony. Here is a link to an ABC News article on the rescue, and there’ll be photos and videos to come.
